Rick's Biography
Rick Gority, instructor for computer skills classes, has been teaching at South Hills School of Business & Technology since 2009.
Rick received a BA from Penn State University in Telecommunications. In conjunction with a close friend, he co-founded a web & graphic design company in 2000. Rick continued to develop his skills with hardware and networking support, which led to his career in the IT field.
When free time is available, Rick enjoys boating on Lake Raystown, brewing beer, and vacationing in the Outer Banks.

Gary Powers

Gary's Biography
Gary Powers has been teaching at South Hills School of Business & Technology since 1998. He spent 20 years as an instructor in the Engineering Technology program. Gary earned his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and served our country for 11 years in the Navy, in both operations and engineering.
Following his Naval experience, Gary worked in production and engineering with Corning, Inc. He inspires his students, instilling them with leadership and critical thinking skills, and stays up to date on the “state-of-the-art” in engineering developments and innovations. In 2009, Gary was named Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association of Private School Administrators (PAPSA).

Amy Nimitz

Amy's Biography
Amy Nimitz is the English and Speech instructor at the Altoona Campus and has worked at South Hills since 2011. Ms. Nimitz has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications Media from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She also has a diploma as a Medical Secretary from Computer Learning Network.
Ms. Nimitz spent the early part of her career doing various jobs in the broadcasting and administrative fields including living in Southern California for several years. Upon returning to Pennsylvania, she starting working at Computer Learning Network as an Administrative Assistant and an Instructor. She worked there for over ten years. She also worked as a Prevention Educator for Blair County prior to teaching at South Hills. While there, she was the recipient of the Community Advocate Award for her efforts with drug and alcohol education in the community and in the Blair County Schools.
She loves traveling and going to concerts.

Barb Seeger

Barb's Biography
Barb Seeger has been an instructor at South Hills School of Business & Technology since 2002.
Barb is a graduate of the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the South Hills team, she served as an elementary school teacher in the Tyrone School District, in addition to serving as Technology Coordinator at Bishop Guilfoyle High School and as an Adjunct faculty member at Mount Aloysius College. She brings her expertise and experiences from the education community to her classroom. Barb’s certifications include: Pennsylvania Instructional I Certification, Microsoft Office User Specialist – Excel, Microsoft Office User Specialist – Word, and Microsoft Office User Specialist – PowerPoint.
In 2018, Barb received the Educator of the Year award from the Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce.
